Godfrey or Lowenthal? |

Emily and I were just wondering if Ryan will indeed be taking Jessica’s last name, as promised, with the upcoming nuptuals. Will you be the Godfreys, the Lowenthals, or the Lowenthal-Godfreys?

  1. Emily:

Or the Godenthals. Or the Lowfreys.

  2. n. allen:

    i think we’re going with godbo-tefrey.

  3. Jane:

The problem with hyphenation, as Jon has pointed out, is that it has to end quickly. If Diana and Neil got married and became Diana Godbo-Tefrey and Neil Godbo-Tefrey, and their kid became Periwinkle Godbo-Tefrey, what would happen when little Perry grew up and got married? Would she opt to hyphenate with her hubby Jules Elmer and become Periwinkle Godbo-Tefrey-Elmer??

  4. Ryan:

    Lowgo-Wenfrey

  5. n. allen:

How about Ryan Lowenthal and Jessica Godfrey? Now that’s modern.

  6. Emily:

    No, really.

  7. diana:

    that was me not neal.

  8. Emily:

Neal, huh? Neal and Dianne sitting in a tree…

  9. Jessica:

    the freylowds (pronounced freeloads).

Actually, I am keeping Lowenthal — and Ryan is welcome to join me — but I suspect he’ll go back on his word.
