Sarah is correct: I've climbed the high points of Arizona, Utah and Idaho (twice). No others.

I've been thinking for the past couple of years that I would do Humphreys (Az) again. Only time I climbed it was with Neil when he was in high school.

Jamie and I keep talking about doing Whitney (Calif). He's climbed it and seems to think I can make it. Anyone else interested?

My friend Richard works at Mount Rainier (Wash). I would love to try that mountain. It is a tough climb, more than a hike. And expensive.

My friend Al will proudly tell you that he's been to 47 state high points. He's only missed McKinley (Alaska), Gannett (Wyo.) and Granite (Mont.). In fact, he's financing a bench on a White Tanks trail that will memorialize his high point accomplishments.

There's an organization called the High Pointers, to which I belonged for a time, that is dedicated to reaching the state high points. It's magazine can be inspiring or depressing depending upon one's motivation and situation.

very cool site! This computer would not pull up the high points, though. I, for one, have been to the top of Borah in Idaho, except for the last 1/2 mile or so. I was left alone on a ridge of shale. Dennis was up on top by himself, and Paul was way down below, by himself. That's smart hiking, wouldn't you say?

I'm aiming for Florida's peak. I think I could handle that.

Dad, we were wondering which ones you've conquered. I put you down for AZ, ID, & UT. Any others? What's next?
