Godfrey 101 |

It’s not a college intro course, it’s Grandpa’s birthday! Thinking of you, Grandpa G.

Also on March 17, 1905:

  • Franklin D. married his cousin Eleanor. I’ll bet you a dollar they at least considered hyphenating their last names: Roosevelt-Roosevelt.
  • Albert Einstein publishes his quantum theory of light, setting the stage for pretty much all of 20th-century science and making possible the Photon Torpedo.

Seriously, H.Elbert, you kicked it old school. Mad props, yo!

I got an A in Godfrey 101. Awesome class!

Happy Birthday Grandpa! I gave it my best to name my son after you. Instead we named him after your longtime Blackfoot neighbor whom I am sure I’ve never met – Mom, what’s his name? A nod to my Idaho roots just the same.

That’s Owen Taylor, the farmer across the highway. Who’da thunk?
