Snowflakes

My kids are having a fantastic time making snowflakes on this website. Try it! Here are a couple Elliot made.

Amye/Sarah on Neil’s 3rd birthday

From today’s Arizona Daily Star Time Capsule:

IBM had an exhibit of small-business computers at the Tucson Community Center, now the Tucson Convention Center, on Feb. 17, 1982. Shown here is the Datamaster, a desktop data and word processor. According to the IBM Archives, the Datamaster was the firm’s lowest-priced small business system. A single computer workstation and an 80 character-per-second printer cost $9,830. Oh, if you wanted the word-processing option, it would be at least $1,100 more.

Whose hose?

I’ve been wondering. Do women under the age of 40 ever wear nylons/pantyhose? I feel underdressed in a skirt without them, unless the skirt is longish or it is over 100 degrees. But everywhere I look, I see bare legs. I mean everywhere. I’ve never seen a fashion statement about bare legs, pro or con, it’s just there. When did it become the norm? Please inform.

Validated

Spent last weekend at the NAU Jazz/Madrigal Festival in Flagstaff with my Vocal Ensemble. They were great kids with nary a hint of trouble, the Friday night concert was wonderful-NAU Shrine of the Ages Choir and a male vocal group from Minnesota called Cantus that brought tears to our eyes, we heard lots of great high school choirs and the NAU Vocal Jazz group, and best of all, we earned a Superior rating for our set of madrigals! That was a first for us, and we were ecstatic!

Cheap trips

Don’t know how long this will last, but Travelocity is offering $140-ish total roundtrips from PHL to PHX and/or going the other way. The catch is it’s on Neil’s favorite airline. J and I have already booked our Christmastime trip to Azland. Make plans to come visit us some time this year!
